The Portland Masonic features elegant spaces for both intimate and large private functions. Filled with period millwork, original stained glass windows, antique chandeliers and furniture and extensive use of scagliola, a 17th century plaster technique that produces a marble-like finish on walls and floors.
The first floor of the Portland Masonic features easy access from Congress Street, and offers two beautiful function spaces. The Scottish Rite Reading Room is perfect for cocktail parties and pre-dinner mingling surrounded by antique wood paneling and portraiture. Down the hall, 20-foot doors open into the impressive Armory.
Surrounded by hundreds of regalia lockers and featuring an original stained glass window and 20’ x 10’ mirror opposite the door, the Armory can seat up to 220 people with room for a dance floor and 250 people without a dance floor.
